Q: Suggestions for golf gifts - I'm to donate a club of choice to a charity outing?
As the title says I am donating a club of choice to a charity golf outing - the club/donation will be raffled off to one of the participating players - and I am looking for suggestions as far as what to donate. I'd like to donate something that will stand out and be desired as a prize by as many entrants as possible, but also something that would actually be useful to the winner. I am looking for direction as far as what type of club (ie driver, iron, wedge, putter, etc) and brand/model would fit the criteria. Beyond a club donation if there are any suggestions for pros and club fitting services in the NYC area, the information would be more than appreciated.
A: a scotty cameron putter hell id try to win it lol
Q: Whats a good saying for a personalized golf ball - wedding gifts?

Q: Gifts dealing with golf...?
Hi my Grandfather's birthday is coming up. An he is a big golf enthusiast. He likes the "Shark", Greg Norman. An I was wondering if there is any interesting golf gifts? I was thinking of getting him tickets to a gold game. Any other ideas be great? Thanks.
Except the only problem is the last time he played golf was two years ago. He had heat stroke, and got sick afterwards. So doesn't play anymore. Just watches.
Thanks for the clothing idea. Yea walking a lot may not be so good on his back. Thanks though for the ideas.
A: go to a celebrity or fan site and send him a letter or e mail explaining the situation and see if you can get him a personally autographed pic...pack that with a nice shark straw hat (like one greg wears), a shark sweater or polo, and tickets to watch the pros at the closest tournament and make up a lil shark package for him...
Q: How and where can I find a good golf gift?
My dad is an avid golfer. I am not. I want to get him something golf related for his birthday but don't know where to start. Anyone have any ideas?
A: Golfgifts.com has a nice selection of gifts sorted by $ amount. I wouldn't buy a club or balls because they should be selected by the golfer. Perhaps a cute set of head covers with the mascot from his favorite college football team.
I've purchased hundreds of items on the internet and not had one item damaged during shipping.
Q: What are the best places to golf in the Chicagoland area?
What are the best places to golf in the Chicagoland area?
My boyfriend and I are going to move to the area. He loves to golf and I would like to know about the different golf courses/centers in the area. I have never golfed. It is almost his birthday and I would like to surprise him with some type of golfing excursion or golfing gift certificates. Do you have any ideas as to where/what I can give him?
A: This might be a good place to start (http://www.golfchicago.com/). It has listings for all of the courses in and around Chicago. You can search for courses according to area.
Q: Do you know where to find golf gift distributors?
AAA Ubrand Trading(www.ubrand.8m.com)is wholsaling goft gifts in Canada, but anyone has the idea how to find the golf gifts distributors in the USA?
A: All of the major golf websites offer gifts. Try tgw.com, golfjoy.com, edwingwattsgolf.com, gadgetsforgolf.com, or golftrainingstuf.com. Any of these sights should have what you may need.
Q: What are the best places to golf in San Diego county?
I recently moved to San Diego with my boyfriend. My boyfriend loves to golf and I would like to know about the different golf courses/centers in the area. It is almost his birthday and I would like to surprise him with some type of golfing excursion or golfing gift certificates. Do you have any ideas as to where/what I can give him?
A: You have something like 82 golf courses to choose from in the county and you can't go too far wrong. The ones people from all over the country travel here to play are:
Torrey Pines - the only public course on the professional circuit. If a golfer plays one course in San Diego (or in California for that matter) in his/her lifetime, it will be Torrey Pines.
Steele Canyon - a newer course out past El Cajon, but people travel from all over to play it.
The Aviara golf course in Carlsbad - Adjoining the Four Seasons Aviara, another very popular course.
The golf course at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in Rancho Bernardo - another course people travel from all over to play.
Riverwalk in Mission Valley - the closest to downtown and a good bet if cost is a factor.
...but like I said, it's hard to go wrong and you have tons of choices. If you're having a hard time securing a tee time for Torrey Pines, call The Lodge at Torrey Pines and ask the concierge. If they can't help you, ask them about ticket brokers - there are a couple who buy up open tee times at some of these courses and resell them.
Q: What is a good golf gift i could ask for?
I am 16. have golfed for 1 year seriously. I'm about a 17 handicap. What is something i could ask for around the 150 dollar range. could be more than one thing. Just want some opinions.
A: There are many things you could get for that price the only thing you can not really get is an iron set unless they are really cheap. Here are some ideas.
1. Putter- A good putter can help your game a lot, if you do not have a nice putter then get a putter.
2. Wedge- getting a good wedge can take strokes off of your golf score. One could be the Titleist Volky Spin Wedge
3. Driver- i got my Nike Sasquatch sumo for like 120 on ebay and it can give you longer straighter shots.
4. Fairway Wood- you could ask for a matching 3 and 5 wood for your driver.
5. Golf Balls- If you dont like to buy golf balls, then ask for them.
6. Golf Bag- If your golf bag is in tough condition then you should get a new one.
Q: What is the perfect golf gift?
I need to buy a present for my Dad, who is a huge golf fan. My brother is getting him tickets to the 2008 Ryder Cup, which is way out of my budget.
But if you could get any golfing accessory, club, etc... what would it be... what are the newest and greatest in golf Technology?
A: Getting clubs for him without a fitting would be a mistake in my book. Even though I have not been playing long, I have found I am very picky about accessories. For instance, I have to get gloves that do not have a metal button on them because I break out where the metal touches my skin.
Have you considered some new walking shorts/pants or shirt to wear to the Ryder cup? Or some other item he could take with him for things he would need that day. I have never been to a golf tournment so I am not sure what people carry along with them. Good luck in your search.
Q: What is a good gift for someone who likes to play golf?
I have a friend who used to play golf all the time, he knows everything about it, now he just plays sometimes for fun.... he has all the necessities, but his Bday is tomorrow. Any good gift ideas relating to golf that I could get him?
A: it depends on how much you want to spend
Under 200 dollars~ Nike Sasquatch 5000 Driver
Under 150 dollars~ New Shoes, Footjoy, Nike, Adidas or Etonic
Under 100 dollars ~ a round of golf at the local course
Under 75 dollars ~ One lesson with a PGA Professional
Under 55 dollars ~ A box of titliest pro v1s
Under 30 dollars~ A shirt (adidas, nike, ashworth, or hagen)
Or if you cant decide, get him a gift card to dicks sporting goods, golf galaxy, or golfsmith, etc.
Hope he likes his gift.
Q: what is the best way to clean golf clubs....and i mean really clean them to resale and or give as gifts?
i was thinking s.o.s pads or those blue scrubber things but im worried the paint might come off or it might discolor or ruin them...these are nice clubs that have been neglected and are in bad shape but im sure improvable..any help would be appriciated
A: Don't use anything too abrasive or it will scratch the heads - hot soapy water and a sponge is fine for the head - get a hard bristled toothbrush - put a dod of normal washing up liquid on it and scrub away at the grooves. They'll come uo looking great.
Q: What to buy as a golf gift for my cousin.?
I'm going on vacation again this year to Ireland. My cousin who is an asst. pro at The K-Club has arranged for us to play with Padraig Harrington and his caddy. He is friends with Paddy's caddy and the last time I was there I got to meet him but we didn't play. What would be a good gift to get him. Also, should I bring something for Padraig and his caddy. I'm not even going to have to pay a green fee. (Pretty cool eh!)
A: You lucky dog! Bring them all something that is unique to where you live. They get all the golf stuff they want for free, or at a huge discount, but, a hat, towel, or divot tool from a local club, or anything else that says, your home town will certainly be appreciated. BTW you should always bring gifts to hosted free sounds at private clubs.
Have a great time
Q: What kind of quality are the 460i Aspire golf clubs?
I'm looking to buy a set of golf clubs as a gift for my husband (who is a lefty). I can't afford too much, but I don't want anything that's poor quality. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
A: I'd say they are an OK beginners set.
Q: Looking for a golf related gift, what would you want?
My boyfriend is graduating from college in couple of months and I don't know what to get him. We'll have been together for about 6 months by that time. He likes to play golf, so I think he'd really like something golf related. I was looking at callaway bags and they're pretty expensive. I want something like that (useful and a nice brand) between maybe $50 and $100. Any ideas? I don't know what people use when they golf!
A: the gift card, Dick's, Golf Galaxy, etc. That way, we can get a great golf item that we really like and still appreciate the gift!
Q: Good brand golf balls for Secret Santa gift?
Our Secret Santa gifts should be about $5 to $10 in value. One person mentioned that she would like good golf balls. Any suggestions? Quality vs. quantity? How much do golf balls cost? Would one high quality one be silly?
A: Since you're buying for a woman, you probably should buy a ladies golf ball. There is a difference. They're softer, which allows a slower swing speed to compress the ball, which makes it go farther.
I'd go for something like the Pinnacle Lady, as they also support breast cancer research.
I suggest NOT buying a pink or other colored golf ball. Stick with white.
