Q: baby gifts?
my really good friend is having a baby in October. I've already started buying her gifts now because I'm soo excited. I bought her a few outfits for the soon to come baby girl. I also got an old baby changing table that I'm going to restore for her. It has three drawers and a place to hang a blanker. I'm going to put things inside it for the baby shower, like extra gifts. But, I don;t know what. Moms and dads of newborns, what does she really need? What do you run out of or can never have too many of?
A: Of course diapers, washcloths bibs. Wipes. Also why not put something in there just for mommy after her child is born. Maybe hide a gift certificate for a good spa place. Or a watch the baby coupon. Also get some diaper rash ointment. the best even though the name is funny is buttpaste. they have it at all grocery stores and anywhere that baby items are sold. Your friend is lucky to have you, good luck :)
Q: Where can I register for baby gifts that is environmentaly friendly and online?
My husband and I are adopting a child and we want to register for baby/toddler gifts online for our family that is out of town but we want the items to be as environmentally friendly and fair trade as possible and not just a bunch of plastic junk. Thank you!
Thank you for your help!
A: There is a great web site giggle.com that has really nice, environmentally friendly stuff.
Q: You ever wish someone you know would have a baby just so you could buy baby gifts?
I love buying baby gifts and going to baby showers! I have 2 kids and am not ready for a 3rd yet, but sometimes wish there was a new baby in the family or friends just so we could throw a baby shower.
A: yes, lol. I just had a baby 5 months ago. You can send me a gift:):)
Q: Baby gifts for the parents who have everything?
My friend just had a baby and she and her husband already have everything they need--and they are financially well-off, so they won't need diapers or formula. I would like to give them a great and lasting gift, not just a jumper or a blanket. I was thinking of something more along the lines of a savings bond or something else kind of unrelated to newborn babies, but I think it may be too impersonal. Again, I would like a gift that would last a long time. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
These are such great ideas! Thanks everyone!
A: One of those little silver boxes to keep lost teeth for the tooth fairy (often found with a fairy on the lid!). Every child only ever has one. Its a keepsake for life, but also something that actually gets used for a few years instead of just put away in a drawer.
This link is for a UK site, but to give you an idea.... http://www.baby-gifts.co.uk/sterling_silver_toothfairy_box.htm
Q: Does the man go with you to register for baby gifts?
I was wondering if the mother to be goes herself to register for baby gifts or does the man usually go with you to do that stuff?
I know there is no rule onthis i am trying to find out if the man typically goes for this stuff with you ?
A: In my situation, my friend who was in part helping plan the baby shower took me. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have had a shower in the first place, and she had been involved in them before (for other people) and I hadn't, so she kinda knew all about what to register for and how everything works, etc. Trust me, the father would have been no help whatsoever, and I know I would have regretted it! lol
Q: How many baby gifts should you give?
If you already gave the expectant mother a baby shower gift are you expected to bring another gift when you go to see the baby once it is born?
Or is once enough? Just wondering about the proper ettiquette.
A: If you don't have the money, don't spend it. Your friend knows if you can afford it or not. If you can, get her something she needs, rather than the baby. Sometimes Moms get left out and with their emotional roller coaster after giving birth, it is a real nice gesture to take mom or mom & dad something. A bottle of wine they like, a meal you prepared that all they need to do is pop in the oven, those would mean a lot to them. Since you already got the baby something, there is no real need to get it something else unless you just really want to.
Good luck and enjoy the new baby and your friends, Rail
Q: How could the party baby shower gifts be stored?
I would like to have something for all baby gifts to go into. Im thinking of a box covered in white fabric and maybe decorated wth lace and that sort of thing. This of course doesnt sound very creative so Im desperately looking for help.
Im looking for any great and unique ideas to make my sisters baby shower look great. thx
A: Wicker laundry basket?
Or even the white plastic ones with a big pink or blue bow on them or one of each if she doesn't know what she's having. (She's about to be doing a LOT more laundry!!!)
Or if $$$'s not an issue maybe a bassinet? (maybe a used one if you have a gently used baby items store in your area.)
Or a toy box? She'll probably be needing one of those soon too (although the wicker basket works good for that too if you want to keep some toys in your family room or something.)
Good luck!
Q: what is the best website for baby gifts?
Hi, I'd like to buy a baby (silver)gift for a friend of mine baby? like a baby feeding spoon or rattle, any suggestions?
A: Try BabyCenter.com, Redenvelope.com, or potterybarnkids.com
Happy shopping, you're friend is lucky to have such a generous friend in you!!
Q: At what week did you register for baby gifts?
I am due in early February and I'm thinking my baby shower will probably be in January sometime. I don't know when to register for the baby gifts. I don't want to wait too long but also don't want to do it too early. Any ideas? (I'm 25 weeks right now) THANKS!!
A: I registered when I found out what I was having. It was too hard to wait, I was too excited. You can do it early, that doesn't mean anyone will know you did unless you tell them to look you up. It also gave me a chance to research and change things around.
Q: What baby gifts would you want to receive most?
Seems like the gifts are all repetitive and I want to give something that is different.
A: I would go for some other sort of help then....
Ive had 5 babies and although Ive never had a baby shower, Ive been given a lot of gifts afterwards, some that Ive used, some I havent.
It would depend on how well you know the mum. If she is family or a close friend I would make some cool Certificates.
something along the lines of
*this certificate entitles the bearer to - (make up your own hours etc) - Free house cleaning or - Babysitting (must be used before baby turns 18 years old) lol. or something along those lines.
I for one, wouldve much prefered just to have someone to talk to, as so many people think "I dont want to bother them with their new baby" when infact with my first baby, I was incredibly lonely and had hardly any visitors.
Good on you for thinking outside the square.
Q: What are some easy baby gifts to make at home?
My teacher is out having a baby, and I wanted to make her a basket for when she comes back. I am 14 so I dont have money, but I really wanted to make her something special!

You can make a picture frame out of popsicle sticks!
Popsicle Stick Picture Frame
Difficulty: Very Easy
Average User Rating:
l
A crafting classic, the Popsicle stick picture frame provides a great base for kids to attach other decorations to.
What you'll need:
* Eight clean Popsicle sticks
* Paint or magic markers
* Tacky craft glue
* Photograph of yourself that it is okay for you to cut (get permission!)
* Scissors
* Pencil
* Cardboard (you can use an old cereal box)
* Yarn (if you want to hang your frame)
* Magnet (if you want to be able to put your frame on the refrigerator or a filing cabinet)
* Any of the following items to decorate the frame: sequins, buttons, construction paper, yarn, stickers, nuts and bolts, fishing lures, buttons, ribbons, tiny fake flowers, golf tees, puzzle pieces, lace, stamps, wrapping paper, fabric, or pictures of their favorite hobby cut from magazines, etc.
How to make it:
1. Arrange the Popsicle sticks as follows: put two side-by-side vertically (up and down). Put two more (arranged the same way) next to them.
2. Take the photograph and slide the edges under the four sticks so that neither of the sides (right or left) show.
3. Place two more Popsicle sticks, side-by-side, so that the top edge is covered. Do the same with the bottom edge using the last two sticks. (The top and bottom parts will cross over the side parts of the frame.) Use the pencil to lightly mark where the frame will attach. You may need to trim the picture if it is too big.
4. Use the glue to put the frame together. Let it dry overnight.
5. While you are waiting for the frame to dry, put the picture on a piece of cardboard and trace around it. Trim the cardboard to be just a little larger than the picture (about 1/4" all the way around).
6. Glue the picture to the center of the cardboard.
7. Decorate the frame using paints or markers. Let that dry (if you used paint) and then further decorate it with the items you've collected. You can see some frame decorating ideas with our fridge frame project.
8. Once the frame is dry (paint or glue), glue the picture to the frame.
9. If you want to hang the frame, glue a 4" piece of yarn to the back of the frame. (Glue one end to each top corner.) If you would rather it be a magnetic frame, glue a magnet to the back. You can also make a stand using a stiff piece of cardboard. (Cut a 4" by 2"
rectangle. Bend the cardboard at one end about 1/2" from the top. Glue the bent part to the back so that the frame can stand up (you may need to trim it a little if it's too long.)
10. Wrap it up, and give someone a special surprise!
Spice up your closet with these scented Potpourri Hangers made from plastic hangers, lace and potpourri. Makes a sweet gift.
What you'll need:
* Plastic Hangers
* Lace fabric
* Lace trim
* Ribbon
* Potpourri
* Hot glue gun
How to make it:
1. Cut 2 pieces of lace fabric about 1/2 inch larger than the body of the hanger.
2. With the hot glue gun, glue one piece of the lace fabric to one side of the body of the hanger.
3. Turn the hanger so the hanger is laying on the lace fabric you just glued on. Now sprinkle potpourri inside the area of the hanger.
4. Now glue the other piece of lace fabric on the hanger, sealing the potpourri inside the hanger between the two pieces of lace.
5. After the glue dries trim the lace fabric close to the diameter of the hanger.
6. Glue the lace trim around the diameter of the body of the hanger.
7. Tie a piece of ribbon in a bow around the neck of the hanger.
Tips:
Another idea:
Another thing that might be added to the Potpourri Hangers is a string of pearls. It can be glued around the diameter after the lace trim has been glue.
GOOD LUCK! That's nice of you to think of your teacher!

Q: How do I send out a baby shower thank you card for a lot of gifts?
A family that is friends with me and my husband got us 2 big baskets and 1 toy box filled with great baby shower gifts, It is a LOT of stuff!
I just want to know how to send out a thank you card for that, I know you are suppose to kind of include a note about everthing you got from a person in the card so that it feels more personal, but I don't think I can thank them for every individual thing and have it fit in one card...what should I do?
A: Just give a general thank you for all the gifts and how you are so appreciative that they tried to cover all your needs. Mention the toy box and how you plan to use it. Mention the baskets if you can use those as well (great laundry hampers, or for storing diaper supplies in other rooms). Just pick one or two of the things and mention those specifically. If you write a big long list, it sounds insincere- which I know is the last thing you want to be.
Q: Does anyone know the proper etiquette for baby shower gifts if the child dies?
My brother and his fiancee were expecting in Jan but she developed preeclampsia and the baby had to be delivered 3 months early. THe baby girl lived 5 weeks and then died from complications to a lung infection in the hospital. What is the proper etiquette for the baby shower gifts? should they be returned or kept for the next child?
Any references as to where to find the information would be helpful.
A: Wow, this is so sad. I think that the OP means that the couple has already received the gifts, and if they should return them to the people who got them. I'd say whatever they feel comfortable with. I doubt they have the time and energy to deal with returning gifts right now. If they do plan on trying again, I'd say put the gifts out of sight or even store them at someone else's house and keep them for the next baby. The most important thing right now is dealing with the grief. I think that if I got someone a shower gift and heaven forbid the baby died, I'm not going to be expecting my gift back. That's tacky and heartless.
I'm so so so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to your brother and his fiancee.
Q: where can i get personalized CHRISTIAN baby gifts?
I want to be able to personalise , like add the name etc, so when the baby grows up, he or she will treasure it.
A: Hi,
I came across one website, and it has done quite a good review of various products. Worth checking outÂ
http://www.personalizedchristianbabygifts.com
i must admit it's not easy to find Christian gifts which can be personalized.
