Q: Wedding Decorations?
I'm planning on getting married later on this year, and I'm working with a tight budget. Does anyone have any referrals for beautiful wedding decorations at a low cost?

A: Go on line to the Oriental trading company they have the cheapest so far or a craft store like Micheal's or wall mart

Q: Where to shop for wedding dress, wedding accessories and wedding decorations in Hong Kong?
I will be travelling to Hong Kong at the end of February. And my main purpose there is to shop for wedding stuff for my wedding this summer.. I will be there at most 7 days, so I want to be prepared... I want to know where to go to shop for cheap and lovely wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, accessories, wedding favors and decorations? Are there any specific malls, or streets to go to? Any cheap shopping will do as well.. Thanks a bunch!!

A: Go to Prince Edward (MTR station), there is a shopping mall (3 floors) that sells wedding stuff.

Q: How can I find wedding decorations with the claddagh symbol on them?
I am trying to find decorations for my wedding reception and our theme is irish/claddaugh. Everything I have found is green w/ shamrocks. HELP

A: You may have to do a lot of searching and you probably have to order them online. Try the first site. Hopefully they will help. Worse comes to shove, you may have to create some of your own decorations. The second website might be able to provide you with some designs to work with. Good luck.

Q: Awesome inexpensive wedding decorations for a black & white theme?
I am getting married & my colors are black & white. I don't want to break the bank on this wedding & reception so I am looking for anyone who has ideas & suggestions for "homemade" wedding decorations .... or if you have any suggestions on how to use the colors. We are planning an outdoor September wedding. If you have any really cheap websites for decor, that'd be useful as well!

A: You could go with a zen black & white look inexpensively. Fill fishbowls with polished black & white stones and a floating candle and place on a tatami mat (like, the kind for sushi). Hang japanese paper lanterns. Or, a very hot look if you don't mind DIY is to make some simple arrangements of white and ivory flowers (white roses, hydrangea, mums, get these from an online wholesaler or Sams Club type place). Place these in square glass vases and either cover the vases in black & white damask fabric (VERY chic) or hot glue or tape a belt of black ribbon with a rhinestone buckle around the vases.

Q: What's the best website to buy used (cherry blossom) wedding decorations?
I'm having a cherry blossom themed wedding and with all the choices, I was thinking, "what does someone do with the centerpieces, decorations?". Instead of throwing them away, I would gladly pay for the continuity and not having to shop around for every little thing and I'm all about recycling. Is there a good website for that? Thanks

A: try www.centerpieceinabox.com they're based near DC and have a bunch of stuff that is not on the website...and some amazing ideas to save money... congratulations and good luck

Q: Where can I buy wedding decorations for a gay wedding?
When I visit San Francisco in December, I need to buy a plastic wedding cake decoration. I need to find two grooms to place on top of the wedding cake...and for the table centerpieces. Where can I find a selection of styles of two grooms? Many thanx!

A: To actually answer your question: http://www.weddingate.com/ http://www.bakingshop.com/gay.htm http://www.gayweddings.com/?gclid=CP-DrJz_iY8CFQcZYAodeRADlg

Q: Indoor Garden theme wedding decorations help please?
I am planning a garden theme wedding for July of 2009. I am struggling because I am doing an indoor wedding reception and don't know a good way to decorate and need some ideas. I was thinking something like bubble bowls filled with flowers, but I'm concerned that will be too plain... I need ideas for center peices and other decoration ideas as well.

A: Start visiting your local craft stores now. Many of them will be having 'summer' items on clearance, such as feather butterflies, dragonflies and such. Stock up to include them in your decorating. You'll want to see if you can find places to either buy (if you think you can re-use it) or rent arches, the kind you'd find in a garden. Place them near the door, over the cake table as well. Same thing trellis' that you could either cover in silk ivy or have garlands made by your florist (pricey though). See if there is a way the venue would allow you to bring in a water feature to add ambiance. Use as many christmas white lights as you can throughout. Large lacy ferns will help fill empty spaces. For centerpieces I would use a tall vase with an arrangement on the top that 'drips' flowers and greenery. Put a battery operated tea light in the vase surrounded by glass marbles to give it a 'glow'. Use those butterflies and dragonflies throughout the entire venue.

Q: Ideas for asian themed wedding decorations?
Having wedding at japanese garden and dinner afterwards at japanese restaurant. What ideas do you have for decorations that have an asian feel. My wedding colors will be mostly brown and green (a fall version... not lime or bright green) with pink accents here and there. Also, any good websites to look at or shop on

A: I hear you! I am Korean, my husband is white. For our fall wedding, we wanted a wedding that had a slightly asian flair but not over the top. I had SUCH a hard time at first because all the typical wedding sites that have favors, decorations, etc had only over the top type of asian things - the bright red and black type. That's not our style plus our color was chocolate. If you email me & give me your email address, I'll be happy to email you pics of our wedding so you can see examples. We picked out gorgeous Chiyogami paper that had small pink flowers with brown accents. We used the paper to accent our invitations and programs. It was beautiful! Here is a site that has this kind of decorative paper: http://www.paperstudio.com/catalog2.php?maincat=%20Decorative%20Paper You can also just do a yahoo search for Chiyogami paper. We lucked out on the florist we chose. She was not only a great florist but was into doing arts & crafts to compliment her stuff. She went to fabric stores and let me choose 2 fabrics that had asian feels then she sewed table runners for every table (for the reception) and throw pillows for the benches that were under the arbor where we were getting married. It was a gorgeous and personalized compliment. The centerpieces for the reception tables was a rectangular clear glass vase with river rock in them and lilies tied with matching ribbon (that went with our colors). There was a gorgeous arbor in the gardens where we got married. She tied beautiful red paper lanterns and strung tiny white lights under there - we had a 5:30pm wedding. We had a tent at our reception and under there, we strung white paper lanterns. Everything turned out beautifully!!!! For our wedding favors, we chose these tiny chinese take out boxes (frosted color). We took that same decorative paper and used it to wrap around the box and then used personalized stickers to hold it together. Inside the boxes, we had personalized fortune cookies that said things like "thank you for coming" and such. Everything was gorgeous - an asian feel without the tacky red and black colors. Here's the link for that: http://www.beau-coup.com/personalized-designer-labels.htm I chose the cherry blossom design. Q: What is the average amount people spend on their wedding decorations?
I have to do a report for my sociology class, and I have a marraige partner and everything. and i have the cost for my dress and rings and all that, and now im doing the decorations. i have no idea how much i should go about spending on all them. how much have you people who are married spent for the total on decorations?

A: I only spent $500, which was all flowers. I had my wedding at a bed and breakfast so that we didn't need any decorations. The ceremony was in the garden which needed minimal decorations we had rose petals down the aisle and a floral arrangement in the water fountain. The reception was inside so it didn't need any decorations.

Q: Is there a website where I can find pictures of outside wedding decorations?
we are getting married in April 2007. i would like some ideas for decorating a wedding arch and other outdoor decorations our colors are navy, baby blue and silver.

A: There are tons of websites you can check out. One of my favorites is www.superweddings.com. Also try: www.wedding-decorations.com www.wedcraft.com/ www.myperfectweddingdecorations.com/ These are just a few. Also try the do-it-yourself places such as www.marthastewart.com www.diy.com www.hgtv.com Hope this helps. Have fun planning!

Q: Is 15,000 pesos is enough for wedding decorations or too much?
We are planning to have a beach wedding...the ceremony and the reception will be in the same place.

A: Where at? That is not very much money if you are hoping to get married in a resort town or in the US. You can do it of course b/c all you really need for a wedding is an officiant and a couple witnesses. It only costs something like $500 to do it. But it can be done for 15,000 pesos if you are good at budgets.

Q: Medieval Wedding Decorations? Any websites with pictures or ideas?
I've always dreamed of having a medieval wedding. Well, upon planning and looking at the cost, my wedding has become more and more traditional, so now I'm looking to at least add a little medieval flair! Does anyone know of any websites with ideas or pictures? (I don't want it to be completely historically accurate....I love the things out of movies like Tristan and Isolde or Braveheart.) Thanks guys!

A: My first thought was to go to a poster site there are tons on line. find some really appealing posters and drape fabric around th outside. Something like the unicorn tapestry in other wards art that might hang in a medieval castle. Also the one medieval we ding I went to we worked with a costume shop in town that made the bride and groom's clothes and the rest of the wedding party and guests rented them. The owner worked with alot of theater companies. Someone like that might be a good resource for props and have some great ideas too. Having fragrant herbs such as lavender, thyme rosemary on the floor( not on a carpet) or tables would be historically accurate. Think pennants and banners have a juggler dressed as a jester, a magician dressed like Merlin. If you want to go all out rent costumes for the serving staff. The reception I attended was a dinner served at the jousting tournament where everyone ate with their fingers from wooden trenchers. That may be a bit too historically accurate for a wedding though.

Q: Do you think I can use this in wedding decorations?
Do you think that you can use pine garland creatively without making the wedding reception look christmas-y, I want kind of a garden feel. I am having the reception in an open pavillion at a park in August. I thought about draping some on the ceiling but I don't want it to look like christmas decor, any ideas?

A: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/flowergarlands.html This should help get you away from the "christmas decor" You can also use some garland on the table around your centerpieces and maybe draping from the head table.... Hope this helps some!!

Q: Does anyone know of a good website, where I can find ideas and pictures of elegant wedding decorations?
I would like to find tall floral centerpieces. Im getting married in June 2008, trying to start planning. Any suggestions?

A: http://www.theknot.com http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/gallery_results.aspx?gallery=27 http://www.theknot.com/keywords/sc_150_527.shtml also look at magazines eg "inside weddings" , "bride & groom" etc

Q: What stores and websites are good for finding good wedding decorations?

A: Stores: Davids bridal Michel's craft hobby lobby Wallmart (don't laugh) Websites: The knot.com oriental trading company invitations by dawn EBay
