Q: How can I get crafts supplies donated to make gifts for the elderly for this X-mas?
I'm trying to gather as much crafts supplies and clear glass ornaments to make gifts for the lonely elderly that are in convalescent homes. Does anyone know how I can get these things from stores or organizations?
A: You might put an ad in the local paper. ONe that is free in your town maybe.
Or maybe ask friends and family to help donate money for these items.
In summer, yard sales are good place to go.
You can ask a store but I don't think they are going to give you much and the senior citizens save enough of their money to have things like lunchs and bingo and stuff, so it would prob be a hardship for them to donate, UNLESS, they collect items for a rummage sale, maybe they can save any of the craft items to donate to you.
Hope it helps some. It's a great idea for you want to do this.
Q: What basic crafts supplies do I NEED?
I'm planning to make paper crafts like cards & stuff. Cards w/ ribbon & stamps & more.
I'm planning to buy it at Michaels, The arts & crafts store
My budget it probably around $80.00-120.00
What basic crafts supplies do I NEED?
& Thanks :)
A: Get yourself some fine, really sharp scissors, and a decent cutting mat, rulers (either metal or the heavy plastic ones used for patchwork). If you are going to use stickers etc, you will also need a fine pair of tweezers. Get some double-sided tape, glue sticks and double-sided mounting foam.
There are also some good paper slicing machines, with attachments for scoring card, so you can cut and make your own card blanks, instead of buying readymade blank cards.
These are the basics, and you can add special scissors, corner-cutting stamps and rubber stamps if money allows, or as you get more creative. Have Fun!!!!!!
Q: Where is the best place to buy children's arts and crafts supplies on-line?
We do not have any specific places near to us that sell good quality arts and crafts supplies intended for children. We do not even have an ELC closer than 35 miles away and we really do want to increase our available arts and crafts idea offerings for our toddler. Does anyone have a suggestion for an on-line retailer who offer good prices for good quality arts and crafts supplies here in the U.K.? Low shipping costs and no need for buying in massive quantities are appreciated.
A: www.abakhan-online.co.uk have got a 50% off all papercrafts at the moment.
Q: What's the best wholesale supplier for arts and crafts supplies?
Dropshipping would be helpful but not necessary. Also, I would prefer to stock my entire online store using goods out of one location, but that obviously may not be possible. Can't seem to find a large warehouse wholesaler online.
A: Check out this site: http://www.toptenwholesale.com/search/arts-and-Crafts
They give you free access to their entire database of wholesale suppliers of arts and crafts. Good luck!
Q: What crafts supplies should I buy first?
http://www.marthastewartcrafts.com/index.php?v=msc_products
I don't know what to buy first. I'm probably gonna make cards & stuff.
- ribbons
- glue
- stickers
- paper punches
& what else?
What are the things that I NEED to buy first?
What store should I buy it from?
I'm planning to buy it from Michael's
The kits are okay but doesnt come w/ much & I know for sure that I want to make cards & stuff
A: First, decide what you want the final products to look like. What your "style" is. Do you like very ornate things? Or more simple things? Do you like very bright colors or pastel colors? Do you want lots of colors, or a more monochromatic design?
Check out some examples of completed cards to see what you like best and note what they used to make the cards.
Here's a website with lots of ideas for projects:
http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/cg_speclists.asp?cmd=typecards
Many of those list the materials and supplies used and some even have step by step instructions. Make a list of those materials and supplies for a couple of the cards you like best and take it to Michaels when you go.
You'll also need some basic supplies such as adhesive, scissors and a trimmer. Here's a site with a good list of those for getting started. Note, you won't need the album and page protectors for making cards:

But, most importantly, HAVE FUN! :)
Q: Does anyone know of a source or sources of closeout/deep-discounted arts and crafts supplies?
Please don't say E-bay, because most of it is retail or almost retail price - often above retail, especially with some people's inflated "postage and handling" fees.
I am looking for a source of art supplies that lists items from 60-90% off retail either through a catalog or online.

Q: where can i find cheap supplies for crafts?
i sell jewelry and would like to know if there is a site i can buy my supplies at a good rate
A: Depending on what you make, you might be able to find some wonderful pieces at antique stores, thrift shops, and closeout shops. Then you can either use the pieces as is, or deconstruct and reconstruct.

A: I'd order online if you can....
I usually buy my supplies at Dick Blick...
or if I can't get over there...I go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels...or a local shop...
I think there's a Pink Pearl store near you too....I don't think it will be easy to find DISCOUNTED supplies though...
I like misterart.com for when i'm trying to save $ and don't need something immediately.
In the mean time, i'll ask my friend who lives in the city if she knows of any discount stores....but I would think that I'd of heard of em if they existed! :) If I hear something, I'll try to contact you if possible, or post an updated comment here.

Q: What basic supplies do I need if I plan to start creating some paper crafts?
Not necessarily scrapbooking, but cards, calendars, keepsakes, etc. Some good websites that might help me get started would be appreciated also!
A: Funky pattern scissors, a good quality paper glue (that wont ruin the paper, preferably acid-free), 3-D stickers, specialty hole punches, lots of cardstock, scrapbook paper (even for cardmaking), sticker letters (or punch-out cardstock lettering), gel pens, paint pens...I could go on forever! :) If you have any other questions ask me! :) I recommend these two websites! :)

Q: My hobby is beading. Can anyone recommend some shops in Cozumel, where I can find crafting supplies; beads?
I'm visiting Cozumel on a cruise. Won't be staying overnight there. Won't be visiting any beaches or bars. I know that some people have taken "Beading cruises" to Cozumel. I thought they may have found a few local shops to share, or those that have frequented Cozumel's shopping areas.
A: Ask at the desk if you're staying at a hotel. Otherwise ask someone at the beach where they got such "beautiful" beads.
