Q: What are some crafts other than necklaces and bracelets that you can make out of guitar picks?
I want to make some really cool things to wear made out of guitar picks because I have uniforms next year and I want to stand out from everybody else (not that I don't already) and thought some funky crafts made with guitar picks would be perfect.

A: hatbands macrame them into a guitar strap with colored hemp twine bead them onto the back of a jacket so it says your band's name buy scrunchies and sew them on it so it's a plucky scrunchie! (Sorry! couldn't resist!) make a watchband or headband make them into a long fringe for a vest, pants or poncho sew them down the sides of your pant legs in a stripe make a chain mail jerkin (medieval vest) out of them by hooking them together with metal o-rings make a chain mail purse or cell phone case make key chains make a lap counter out of them do what my band does and save them in a picky bank, then toss them to the audience during your last song

Q: What kind of crafts could i do with my old Christmas cards?
I have a lot of old X-mas cards sent to me every year, they are so beautiful I hate to just throw them away espessially since those people took the time to send them, a rare thing these days... But I need some cute ideas for crafts. I already know about the oranaments, picture frames, gift tags, and gift wrap, thanks to google. I need more ideas. Please Help Me.

A: Some horse riders sew their ribbons and rosettes won from horse shows onto quilts and cushion covers, and they look FANTASTIC. I know cardboard/paper from Christmas cards isn't quite the same or as flexible to use as ribbon, but perhaps you could think along those lines? I found a great website a few years ago, of a teenage girl who custom made some excellent quilts etc using people's ribbons. Wish I could remember the address! =\ It could have possibly been a great source of inspiration

Q: How do i get my homemade crafts to American Soldiers?
I make Cross Bookmarks and everyone i give them to loves them. I have a son in the Marines and I would like to send some as a gift to other Soldiers. All branches of service. Anyone with knowledge of how to go about doing this. I am not able to work and this is one of my crafts. I want them to go to soldiers who would want them, not to offend any that don't believe in god. I won't be sending any other crafts just this as a bookmark or as a cross. It is lightwieght and made of plastic canvas and yarn only. Please no anti-god remarks. Positive advice welcomed.

A: The United States armed forces cannot recieve cards to "any serviceman" this year due to fears of terrorism. Instead, the Pentagon has set up a secure email system that allows anyone to send a message to "any serviceman." Just pick the branch of the service, type your message and click send. The story behind the "to any serviceman" cards: Since 1967, when Sgt. Billy Thompson wrote Abigail Van Buren and mentioned that a wonderful Christmas present to our armed forces would be "just a letter from home," American citizens have been sending holiday wishes to servicemen and women stationed overseas every holiday season. Dubbed "Operation Dear Abby," the program has brought holiday joy to hundreds of thousands of U.S. military personnel deployed away from home. Q: What sorts of crafts can you do involving small mouthed mason jars?
I am trying to help a few fellow members of a writing group. To check out my other questions for this group, go to my profile and check out my questions. All will have to do with crafts. (Of which I do not participate myself) Thanks!

A: I made a Santa candy container once. I took an ice pick and punched a hole in the center of the lid. Then I took a styrofoam ball, and make a hole through it, and inserted a pipe cleaner, twisting it at the top so it couldn't pull through. Then I made a Santa hat for it out of felt, with a white cotton ball on the top, and glued it on the ball, used sequins for eyes and mouth, and glued a cotton beard on it. Then I inserted the pipe cleaner through the lid, and taped it down so it wouldn't come loose. I cut arms and legs out of a single layer of red felt, mittens out of white felt, and boots out of black. I glued the pieces together, and then I glued them onto the sides and bottom of the jar. For Santa's belt, I glued a black strip of felt all the way around the jar and decorated it with a yellow felt buckle. When all was dry, I filled the jar with Christmas candy and set it on a shelf with his legs dangling down. Very cute, a good Girl Scout project.

Q: What are some good craft ideas for crafts you will be selling?
I am trying to get some money by making crafts and selling them, i just dont know what to make. any ideas or websites would be greatly appriciated.

A: I like to make simple jewelry. This is popular for moms and elementary school teachers. Get the cute shaped erasers and hot glue them to earring posts. You can get bulk metal shapes like snowflakes and such at a crafts store. Then you can turn them into pins and earrings. If you want to fancy them up you can apply embossing (powder, then heat gun to seal). They don't cost much and are quick and easy to do!

Highly recommended. Hope this helps...

I babysit two kids, ages 3 and 5. They like crafts but I'm running out of ideas!! I have made tambourines and music shakers, printed off colouring pages, traced & coloured leaves with crayons, let them illustrate small stories, ironed leaves in wax paper (I did the ironing; don't worry), finger painted and cut out potato stamps to use with paint. What are good crafts to do with them? Halloween crafts would be great but any craft will do. Thanks!

After they dry you can paint them black and stick pipe cleaners in them for legs. Ghost. Dip cheese cloth into laundry starch and gently ring out the extra. Q: What are some good crafts for an 18 month old?
I would like to do crafts at home with my daughter. She is pretty smart for her age, so anything that would be suitable for up to a 21/2 yr old, would probably work. We are on a budget, and I am not that "crafty" to begin with. Any suggestions are appreciated.

A: finger paints crayons water colors anything where it has a lot of pieces that can go anywhere (foam frames are awsome) either put glue everywhere on it or as her where she wants the piece then put glue there and let her place it anything that doesnt involve alot of dexterity would work great even though she's smart she probably doesnt have the dexterity to do alot of crafts well yet (my very smart 3 yr old still sucks at crafts) price wise try dollar stores and such for cheapy crafts and walmart for crayons and paints dont expect a masterpiece with paint yet alone actually coloring in the lines till age... well you know what i still cant color in the lines lol but i would say age 5 or 6 for that

Q: What are some good crafts/ activities for a three year old?

Q: What is the definition of an arts and crafts cottage or home?
Does anyone know the true meaning of "arts and crafts cottage/home?" I know what the arts and crafts movement was but I keep seeing new and old houses with this description and it does not seem to be the same as the movement. Thanks for your answers!!

A: An arts-and-crafts home is one that was built during the architectural era of the same name. A new house, therefore, cannot be genuine arts-and-crafts, but it can be in the arts-and-crafts style. The distinguishing characteristic is the "eyebrow" style porch. remember the house in "Roseanne" with the low-roofed open porch? Like that.

Q: What are some good preschool crafts and activities that I can do with my students?
I teach in an inclusive preschool that has both typical students and students with special needs between the ages of 2.5 and 5. I am looking for some activities or crafts that focus on the letter C or D. Any ideas from projects that your children have done in preschool are welcome. Thanks.

A: C clay (work with clay to build fine motor skills) collages (let the kids rip tissue paper, cut pictures, etc) candy catchers (take jolly rancher hard candy and put them in a zip-pie bag. one for each child. let the kids crush them with a small mallet. put a cookie cutter on a piece of wax paper and let the child fill with candy. bake until the candy has melted. glue a string to the back. sun-catchers!!) cookies (let the kids add the ingredients and mix, then bake) D draw with crayons, markers, chalk dance to music decorate something (baby food jar: cut small pieces of tissue paper. water down some glue and let the kids paint on the pieces of tissue. overlap them. looks like stained glass. great for presents) decorate a hat (have each child bring a hat (or white shirt) from home to decorate with fabric paints, sequins, etc.

My mother's eyesight has progressively become worse over the last couple of years due to illness. She's a homebody, and can no longer drive so getting out is difficult.
