Q: How can I assemble my Martha Stewart from Kmart prelit Christmas tree?
I bought a 7-foot prelit Christmas tree - Martha Stewart from Kmart last year. My daughter assembled it in 10 minutes and it was beautiful all season! We took it out of the box and tried to assemble it yesterday and the branches won't stand up. It seems as if they need to hook or click into something but we can't figure out what. Of course, there were no instructions, only a simple diagram on the box. Does anyone else have one of these trees and know what to do with it?

A: You could try to get online website to www.martha Stewart website to see if you can find something on there. I had a tree three year without instructions.

Q: How do I fix the power cord to a prelit Christmas tree?
I have a 3 month old Daschund puppy. And I just realized that he chewed through the power cord to my pre-lit Christmas Tree. It wasnt plugged in, the dog is fine but the tree cord is completely bitten all the way through. And chewed on. Is this fixable? Its a brand new tree. Can i strip off the casing and reconnect the wires somehow? Use electrical tape? Anything? Would that be safe?

A: Cut the cord at the nearest damage to the lights. Get a plug from a hardware store that you can attach to the ends- they're pretty easy to put together. See a store associate if you need help picking out the right size. You won't need a large industrial strength plug, a small one will do. If it is too short to reach your outlet then use an extension cord.

Q: Where is the best place to get a decent, inexpensive prelit Christmas tree?
I'm a student living on loans and don't want to spend too much, but am hoping to find a reasonably priced 9' tree. I'm also not allowed to put a live tree in my apartment, per my contract. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

A: big lot's or some other dollar store type.

Q: Can I add lights to a prelit Christmas tree, safely?
We have a year old artificial prelit Christmas tree. There is a strand of lights out. I am not going to go thru them as the tree is already up. My instructions says it's a no no to add lights. Has anyone ever added lights? Is it safe?

A: I've put them on separately. We have a stay lit and have not had problems. We have not had any lights go out, I just like lots of lights. I even have some bubble lights! Good Luck! Merry Christmas!

Q: What happens if you buy a prelit Christmas tree and a lightbulb goes out?
Is there a replacement bulb or do you have to throw the tree out and get a whole new one?

A: If you can find the offending bulb without losing an entire strand, you can replace the bulb. Be sure to unplug the tree before removing the bulb, and replacing it with a workable bulb. If all else fails, read the instructions.

Q: What to do with a prelit Christmas tree that has a string of lights that isn't working?
I'm so frustrated because I tried replacing all the bulbs of the string that's not lighting up and I've had no success. Any other suggestions? By the way, my tree is white so a regular light strand wouldn't work because the cord is green. The original strands cannot be removed; they are very well tied to the tree.

A: Did you try changing the fuse in the plug if there is one? Otherwise, just remove the burnt out strand and replace with a working strand of lights.

Q: We have a prelit Christmas tree that the light have died out on. What can I do to fix this?
At a craft warehouse we've seen this thing that's sorta shaped like a glue gun that fixes xmas tree light somehow. Have you heard of this? does it work? Thank you!!

A: Yes it does work. I have the one with the light/fuse tester in it. You can also plug the tester into one of the bulb sockets on the strand that is not lit and pull the trigger a number of times. This will make the defective bulb in the strand have continuity and the strand will come back on and the defictive bulb will be the one that will be unlite. Now this works most of the time. For the times it does not work and you have a sectional prelit tree, I would suggest you get alot of spare bulbs and patience and start tracing.

Q: Why does the fuse on the plug on my prelit Christmas tree keep blowing?
The lights will stay on for a few minutes then the fuse blows? M-ike-D: Maybe you have the patience to set up and decortate an 11 foot tree to plug it in for only a day or so but to me it is not worth it. It becomes Christmas tree time as soon as Halloween for all this effort in my humble opinion

A: that tree just hates you

Q: How can a fix a light on a prelit christmas tree?

A: there is a product on the market that checks light bulbs. they sell em at most hardware stores especially this time of year. all you do is put the tester up to the bulb and it will tell you if it has power, even if the lamp is burned out.

Q: prelit christmas tree bulb life?
how long does a prelit tree last. This is the 3rd Christmas' and it just blew out

A: It lasted two more than it was designed to. Now, you either have to buy another prestrung ( if it were prelit, it would glow in the bos), or sting bulbs over the ones there. So sorry, Charlie, you just fell for another marketing scam. Merry Christmas.

Q: Prelit Christmas tree light strands arent working. How do I solve this problem?
Maybe I should be more specific. Go to the hardware store for what? A new f'n tree. ITS PRELIT and a couple of strands dont work. You cant take the strands off and replace them, and 'supposedly' if one light goes out the others will remain lit.

A: You need the new light zapper available at most craft stores like Michaels. If you plug in the string to the zapper click the device 4 times sometimes that gets the whole strand working. If you are tired of buying hundreds of strands of lights every year like we are, the light zapper is a life saver. We paid $4.99 for ours, have had it now for a couple of years and it saves us money replacing strands every time. It can even test the fuses and individual bulbs. And, it will work on the prelit tree lights too. The long way of solving the problem is by checking all of the bulbs on the portion that isn't lit or getting a light zapper. By hand, pull each light and check the wires on the bottom to make certain they are making proper contact in the base. Check to see if each light is burned out by installing it in a socket on the working portion of the strand. Big old pain and sore fingers. Or you can go to your local craft store or discounter and get a light zapper. Great invention. You zap the strand with the gun and about 80 percent of the time, it magically gets the strand to work in its entirety. Mine is called Holiday Living light set repair tool & tester, but I have seen other brands. It has a sound and light continuity detectors, bulb remover and tester all in one handy gun. Most holiday light sets fail because an individual light bulb shunt fails to energize as a filament burns out. The zapper sends a pulse through the damaged bulb and clears the shunt so the current can flow. You can check it out at www.lightkeeper.Biz

A: argos

Q: Looking for a four or five foot prelit christmas tree?
Want opinion on which brand or type is most dependable. I dont want to by a new tree every year. This tree is to be purchased in Ohio

A: sears has the best trees but they are costly the best thing to do is go to cvs, biglots, walgreens and buy a $20-30 tree then after christmas you can get a $200 tree for like $50

Q: Hooking up an artificial prelit christmas tree?
The labels have come off and I can't figure out what plug connects in to what. Anyone have a clue?

A: Mine comes in three pieces and is a 9 foot tall tree. So the male plug that comes off of the very top section of the tree hooks into the male/female plug in the middle. You have to make sure that you have the sections lined up so that the cord reaches to the center section plug. That middle section plug has both the male and female connections and the male connects to the last section or base of the tree. The cord that hangs from there is what I connect into the timer at the wall plug. I have to leave the switch connected to the tree cord in the on position for the timer to work properly. Hope this helps.
