Q: Christmas Tree Storage?
Does anyone know where I can find a Christmas tree storage bin? Or do you have any other ideas. I have used a zipper bag for storage for many years, but I have to pull and twist to get the tree out, since the tree is prelit I'm afraid of eventually damaging the bulbs, PLUS I can't stack anything on top of it! UGH! Thanks!

A: Lots of garden centers turn into Christmas centers this time of year. I've found they have all the greatest storage units for trees and have them on sale to boot.

Q: How to get the mouse urine smell out of a fake Christmas Tree in storage.?
Sorry, I know, gross question, but I am desperate!! I just pulled my fake Christmas tree out of storage, and I was so upset to find a small mouse nest in it. I don't think it was there long, as the tree was not damaged at all, the nest was small and there were not that many droppings around. BUT, there is a smell on the tree of urine. It is a brand new, $300 tree, which I don't want to throw away. Any advise? The tree will NEVER go in storage again!! Thank you!

A: Buy one of those huge plastic bins to store it in, usually see them out around xmas time though. Take it outside to air out, can try sprinkling with baking soda. Or maybe misting it with a vinegar and water mixture. Then, maybe try some Febreeze. Just leave it outside for awhile to air.

Q: White Christmas Tree storage?
I have a white Christmas tree and was told that if you store it in blue paper(??) it will stay whiter, longer. What kind of paper do you use, where can you find it, and how do you use it??? PLEASE NO SMARTASS COMMENTS SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY

A: The only storage instructions I have found was to be sure the tree is not stored when there are extreme temperatures. Why not use a blue sheet.

Q: christmas tree?
I have an artificial tree and from being in storage the needles on it look smashed... does anyone here know how to make it look newer so the needled arent flat?... and if you don't: do you know where i can find out how? i have looked all over the internet and i cant find anything.

A: DO the same as above but take your vacuum hose and go accross the branches with a brissel on the end and that will fluff it up and clean the branch also and remember to pull the branches down.

Q: When did you take your Christmas tree down and when did you put it up,did u want to leave it up all year?
As I said before my mom told me to wait till Thanksgiving to put our Christmas tree up,I didn't listen because I was too excited and I put it up on November 21st, and took it down January 1st.We have one of those 7.5 ft Martha Stewart Christmas trees(color is pine green) and all of the lights did not come on,any way,the tree is in its storage waiting to be stored away till whenever I put it up again.

A: I put my tree up on Saturday December 6th and took it down on Friday January 2nd. I didn't really want to leave it up all year. I think it should have stayed up until Tuesday 6th though - but I was busy on Saturday and Sunday and then it was back to work on the Monday so I took it down on the Friday instead. It looked so bare!! Can't wait till next Christmas!!

Q: Is it illegal to dump Christmas (pine) trees in a dumpster at a storage lot?
These girls threw 5 Christmas (pine) trees out in front of my house I have no idea what I am going to do with them I told my dad that I would go take them to my friends storage lot and we will just dump them in the dumpster there but he said that that is illegal and we cant get caught doing that because we will get fined. I live in Michigan and I was just wondering if there is a law prohibiting this or can I get fined for doing it.

A: that's what dumpsters are for. to put trash in them..i would do it.

A: January 6th :)

Q: Is Christmas tree is necessary to have at home is this a tradition or a symbol?
We have the family on my little apartment for early exchange gift most of our stuff are in storage even our Christmas tree we did not put it up this year.My mother in-law is disappointed bec. we don't have a tree is getting me thinking if a tree on christmas is a tradition or symbol? but only thing in my mind is as long your family are together on Christmas that is matter ! not the decoration glittering stuff hanging around our home probably just a plus especially when you have kids. Hi Guy's, thanks for taking the time to answer my question I really appreciate it but unfortunately I can't rate you guy's till I'm in level 2. They all say that no place like home miss my home my husband is great! but my in-laws umm! you know what I mean.I know I'm still bless at least they accept me and we can't perfect families almost something goes wrong and I don't expect to be. But you guy's are awesome ! all of you have good answer..

A: The tree is a very important tradition in our family: selecting it, cutting it down, decorating it, watering it, taking it down. There have been some years where we simply could not afford to put one up. So, we did not and moved on. I think it enhances Christmas but does not add to the true spirit of the season. Our tradition for the spirit of the season is making, decorating and eating a birthday cake for Jesus on Christmas morning before we start opening the presents.

Q: Christmas tree ideas, any help please.?
Ok, so for the past 3yrs I've had a white christmas tree and was planning on keeping it one more year, so last year I brought a new set of blue lights and decorations the tree was beautiful white with blue decor. My problem is I want to change to a green tree but I was hoping to hold off for one more year but when I pulled my white tree out of storage today I noticed how dingy it was and washing it wasn't helping. So my question is can a buy a green tree and use the decorations from last year and have my tree still look nice, all the balls and garning (the stuff that's wraps around the tree I think its called like that) is blue, I do plan on buying new lights since my previous ones had white wires, would a multi color light look nice with the blue decorations. If anyone has tips and/or pics it would be greatly appreciated thank!

A: i have honestly never understood having a monotone tree. it seems so cheesy! a green tree will look fine with blue ornaments, but my suggestion to you is to branch out and get some nice colorful balls to accent it. over the last many years i have collected some treasures of ornaments, and i cannot tell you the joy i have each year when i rediscover the wonderful varied ornaments i have. i also often give unique ornaments to my closest friends as keepsakes for future years enjoyment. pier one has some striking ornaments each year.

Q: where in the UK can I get a pop-up christmas tree?
My friend got one in B&Q a couple of years ago. It came with lights and folds down flat for easy storage.

A: Agree with KLM, just go looking in big superstores, most of them do something similar

Q: Artificial tree or live tree for Christmas?
Last year was the first time in my life that we had an artificial tree for Christmas. I didn't like it throughout the holiday, but when the holiday was over, I just three 50 gal. trash bag over it, and hauled it to the basement for storage. That's when I loved it! I'm thinking about going back to a live tree this year. What are you going to do?

A: There are upsides and downsides to both. I'm sure you know what they are. I have an antique tinsel tree that used to be my great-grandparents which will probably be the only tree I use in the future. I love it because it looks very cool (it's silver) and because it has family history.

Q: Help me find a giant plastic storage container?
I need help finding a giant storage container that can replace the box my christmas tree was stored in. The box was roughly 4.25 ft long X 3.5 ft high X 2 ft wide. Please don't tell me to use google or give me rubbermaid's link...I need concrete help. It would be much appreciated :)

A: The biggest containers I've seen are at the big box stores--Home Depot and Lowes. You can try container stores like Stacks and Stacks

Q: How much storage space do you have for Christmas decorations?
I am still packing mine up and will probably have at least 6 large totes filled, plus two tree boxes. I am amazed at all the "stuff" and I don't even go all out decorating during the holidays! And yes, I actually downsized a few years ago when I donated a few bags of decorations to local flood victims to replace what they had lost.

A: I tend to go overboard when decorating evrey year. I like to visit lots of stores to see what the new christmas decorating trends are. http://www.christmasdecorationsstores.com

Q: Christmas Tree Help!!!?
Ok so I got a cat and we want to get a Christmas Tree this year but we used to have a palm tree ( don't ask it's prezerved! ) and he used to climb it so we had to put it in onother room that we use for storage, so we don't know what to do about it! Does any one know if I should get a Christmas Tree and what to do about my cat becuase we're worried he will climb it and it will fall down! And does any one know how to stop him from playing with the ordement's? Thank so much for all's help! Merry Early Christmas!!!

A: Before you go purchasing something to spray on a tree, find out about the product's flammability. CHristmas trees that are taken care of properly are a safe decoration, but you don't want to take any chances with an unkown.
