Q: can i wire 2 christmas tree lights to one plug?
I have two sets of christmas tree lights, one without a plug, one without. Can i add the other set to the same plug by stripping back the wire??
A: Yes. No problem.
Q: Christmas tree lights on an artifical tree?
Help! I just bought a new tree to put up. My husband is deployed and I have no idea what he did with our tree when we moved! Anyways, I put the tree up and the top strand of lights aren't working! It's straight from the box. What do I do? How do I fix it? I feel like I've tried every light 15 times to see if it's screwed in tightly. Please help. Thanks!
A: Buy new lights sorry. Or you can take a working light bulb out and put it in one of the broken slots to see if its like a electric current problem or a bulb problem. Either way it seems like getting a new string of lights would be best.
Q: What kind(s) of Christmas lights were decorated on your Christmas tree & what are your favorite color lights?
I LOVE Christmas lights because they make any Christmas tree come alive, even if you have a tree branch for a Christmas tree,
my family has a pre lite tree and I just loved when the sun went down and looking at how the tree sparkled and glittered and made my eyes twinkle and shine.
A: My favorite lights are white & crystal blue - when sparkling, they remind me of ice.
Q: Christmas tree lights, how can I tell which bulb burnt out???
Help, I got some of those cheap lights. One bulb burns out and the rest of the string does not light. How can I tell which one I need to replace???
A: Sometimes if you look very carefully, you can find a bulb with a crack in it, or a burnt out filament.
Usually, you get nothing that way though.
Get an electric meter, set it to Ohms, and stick one prong through both holes in the plug, hold that tight. Unplug a bulb in the middle, and stick your other prong of the meter in the hole on either side. One side will say 1,000 or so, the other side will have a lower number. The side with the highest number has the burnt-out bulb. Stick the bulb back in, and go down that side of the chain until you get a low reading on each side. You've just found the bad bulb. Replace it, and plug the strand back in.
Q: Your Christmas tree lights of 2007-Did your Christmas tree lights stay on without blowing a fuse?
Did your lights stay on without blowing a fuse.
A: Yes they did. We had over 30,000 lights in our display that were sequenced to music that was broadcast on FM.
We showed from Dec 8 to Dec 31 from 6-10 every night without any problems from my lights.
I did turn them off when I had a problem with a pair of controllers that got fried and had to replace them. But I did not have any problems with my lights.
I did have to replace a couple of bulbs on a wireframe.
Q: Since the Pc Police want us to say Holiday Tree instead of Christmas Tree & Holiday Lights instead of->?
Christmas Lights what will be the next move? Instead of Santa Claus or Saint Nick it will be Holiday Claus? or the White Beaded Man?
A: I agree with you. I hate "Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings". It's Merry Christmas. Plain and simple. Now the Pc Police are trying to ban holiday music that uses the word Christmas from public places because it might offend non-christmas celebration people.
Political correctness can kiss my a**.
Q: My neighbor put Christmas lights and a Christmas tree up yesterday.Do you agree that this is odd?
I honestly think it is a case of one upmanship.2 weeks ago I got tired of it getting dark so early,so I hung some tiny white lights on a ficus tree on my front enclosed porch. She called me Martha Stewart and said that my house really gets noticed now.(Whatever, lady!)
Mostly I did it for my 7 year old son who enjoys it!
'applecris..'--she does not have any kids.
A: There are a lot of neighbors out there who are very competitive over anything. My first year in my home I decorated really cute for Halloween, the next-door neighbor said, "Okay, you can have Halloween, but Christmas is MINE!" I thought, "Huh? Weirdness"
Christmas came and my house was way cuter than hers :~)
Kill your neighbor with kindness, tell her how lovely her decorations are and how organized she is by having it up this early!
Happy Holidays!
Q: Why is there LEAD in Christmas tree lights!!???? YIKES!?
Has anyone read the "Prop 65" warnings on the back of Christmas tree light boxes... ???!! Oh my goodness!
They are warning that the plastic coating contains LEAD and that it can cause reproductive and birth defects.. and can cause cancer! It's in all Walmart stores under the brand "Holiday Time"... Other stores carry different brands, and they all have the warning!
Why do they allow this??????????????????????????????
These are NOT! the old ones... these are brand new... and the local TV stations have done stories on this...
Scary, huh?
A: I believe it's not just the lights, it's also the cords. And contrary to what most people know it's not just christmas lights,it's also present in almost all electrical cords. I don't know why it's there, it seems to me with all the knowledge in the world today there should be no reason why lead should be used in so many things today, people think just because led isn't in home paint or crayons anymore it's not in anything. But that is just not true
It can be present in eletrical cords, fuses, professional art paint, computer cords, cables and much more!
Q: is there a trick to finding the burned out bulb on a strand of christmas tree lights?
i hate going through every indivigual light trying to fix an entire strand. isnt there some sort of trick to easly finding the "problem" bulb?
A: plug it in and turn it on. mark the ones which don't turn on with a marker, tape or something else. when you are done, turn them off and fix the duds.
simple.
Q: What is the "staple" that came as a spare part with my Christmas tree lights used for? ?
It is a plastic piece much like the base the light bulb sits in, but it is almost like a "spacer". There do not appear to be any wires in it.
A: Is it to help remove the bulb when it blows? It's the only reason I can think of.
Q: Should Christmas tree lights be turned on after Christmas Day?
I know the tree stays up until the epiphany, but should the lights be switched on after the big day?
A: I do. There are no real rules on in, as far as I know. We are free to follow our hearts. Mine are still on, and will be until I take the tree down... next week or so.

Q: What does christmas mean and where did the christmas tree and lights come from?
Where did the tradition of the Christmas tree and celebrating christmas come from. Did the cave men celebrate christmas too?
A: Christmas is from Anglo-Saxons "Christ-messe" and means the celebration of Christ. In most other languages the name of Christmas comes from the word for "birth" - Natividad, Noel, Nativity.
The arrival of Christ in the world has been celebrated from the early days of the Christian church. At this time, there were no universal standards so some people celebrated the birth, some celebrated the arrival of the Magi (aka three kings), Epiphany. They also celebrated on different days as the bible does not give any date.
The Church in Rome settled on December 25th some time in the late 3rd century. There was no traditional Roman feast on that day, though the Emperor did start a new one at about that time. No-one knows which came first. This date became the standard in the Western Catholic church and is kept by most protestants. Most Orthodox use the same date, but a different calendar, a few still use a different date.
The tradition of the Christmas Tree started in Europe and is first recorded in the 16th century, well into the Christian era. There is no evidence at all of any connection to paganism.
The first Christmas trees were put up on Christmas Eve and were decorated with fruit and nuts (now replaced by glass baubles and candy). Christmas Eve used to be counted as the Feast of Adam and Eve. The connection is obvious - the Christmas tree represents the tree in the Garden of Eden.
The birth of Christ, the second Adam, transforms the tree from a symbol of our fall to a symbol of our redemption
Q: who breaks all the christmas tree lights?
why is it you when you put the christmas tree lights away in the new year there in tip top working condition and when you get them out the next year they dont work
A: Dunno but theyve been to my house and ruined three sets.
Q: With some strings of Christmas tree lights, if one bulb burns out?
The entire string of lights is no longer illuminated. This is because:
A. the string of lights is a parallel circuit and one burned out bulb breaks the circuit
B. all of the bulbs have burned out
C. the string of lights is a series circuit and one burned out bulb breaks out the circuit
A: The answer is C, however this doesn't happen in reality because the bulbs are designed to go "short circuit" when they blow thus keeping the others lit.
