Q: Should I hang up my outdoor Christmas lights already?
My 7 year old son is begging...
A: Traditionalist say not to decorate for Christmas until Thanksgiving. I say go for it he's 7 more people need that kind of Christmas spirit.
Q: Outdoor Christmas lights, When does it become tacky? Or How many lights are too many?
A: I think it becomes tacky when someone puts out things besides lights (like statues, those blow-up things, etc.) or when some one puts up different colored lights. I don't think there's such a thing as too many lights. With some houses, more lights work and can make the house look elegant, especially if they are put up in a proper way.
Q: Has anyone heard of any fire hazards wrapping outdoor christmas lights around dry grapevine?
A: I would suggest using miniture indoor/outdoor lights. They don't get hot like the larger outdoor lights would.
Q: What brand are most reliable Christmas outdoor lights?
Whatever I buy seems to fail partially the second year
A: Kirkland Signature.
Q: Outdoor Christmas lights for indoor use HELP!?
Hi everyone, I need advice. It may sound silly but can outdoor Christmas lights be using indoors on a Christmas tree?
These are the lights: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/catalogId/1500001151/partNumber/2698214.htm
I'm confused because its doesn't say indoor/outdoor, just outdoor.
Will they be OK on an indoor tree or will they get too hot?
Thank =)
A: As a general rule outdoor light can be used indoors, but not always the other way round.
The issue is voltage. All outside lights are low voltage, typically 12v to 36v depending upon the light set. Indoor lights can be low voltage, or full mains voltage (240v) which would be lethal if used outdoors, especially in the wet/fog.
So, those lights are low voltage, and should be OK to use either in, or out, doors.
Ask Argos to let you look at the box, it may say more about where and how to use them, on the back of the package. I'm willing to bet they're OK indoors.
Q: Christmas Outdoor Lights?
do they still work if it rains? and do I have to cover the ends with something/plastic so that the water won't get in and cause a fire?
A: They always work in the rain. We cover the ends with black electrical tape Just to be safe. Make sure they are outside lights.

Q: Where can I find lights for outdoor trees?
I am looking for something called "Fairy Lights" for outdoor use. Technically, they are outdoor christmas lights, but they are made for year round use. I have seen these used in commercial areas and shopping centers to light their trees year round.
I have tried searching different Christmas websites, but all I can find is lights with white or green cords, and I need something with Brown cords.
Does anyone know where to find these?
A: go to any garden/patio center
Q: whats the best way to hang outdoor christmas lights?
A: ITS OCTOBER!!!!!!!!
Q: What is the difference between indoor Christmas lights and outdoor Christmas lights?
I found whole bunches of strings of lights when I was at my mom's decorating her tree. I know that she likes lights outside and that no one ever has time to hang them. So, I took them out, untangled them, connected them all, and hung them on the shrubs in front of her house. When she got home, she asked if they were indoor or outdoor lights. I have no idea, since they weren't in a box, but they all work.
I can't find anything on the Internet to help me with this.
I need to know if there's a difference, especially in safety, and if so, how can I tell? Thanks.
I live in south Texas, if that's any help... it doesn't snow here (unfortunately), but some winter days are foggy and humid. Right now, it is dry and (blissfully) cold.
A: These days, most lights are indoor-outdoor. There is no difference.
However, if the lights are old, then there IS a difference. Usually on older strands, outdoor lights will be much bigger than indoor ones and the cords and plugs will be heavier.
Indoor lights would not deal with humidity well and could short out. The actual bulb could also be made of thinner glass.
Without seeing them, that's the best I can do -- sorry.
Q: Indoor and Outdoor Christmas Lights?
How can I tell if the xmas tree lights are indoor or outdoor use?
A: If you have some of both, compare the wires - the heavy ones are outdoor lights, and usually the bulbs are bigger.

Tips for doing it to.
A: hang them where by-passer will definetly see them...make them brigtht and colorful so that they are eye-catching to people...make a cool design..just be creative with it....
Q: Have you put outdoor lighting up {for Christmas} yet? Did it have lights that did not work?
How does that make you feel?
A: we haven't, i don't think we will too.. but the past few years, we did.. and yea, that's happened a lot.. and it pisses me off coz it makes the decor look lame n cheap.. lol.. but, when u buy the xmas lights, a few spare bulbs go with em, right..? so, jez change em.. and when we run out of these spare bulbs, we use bulbs from old xmas lights coz most of em still work..Ü
Q: questions about outdoor christmas lights...?
This may seem silly to the professionals but I was wondering about the light timer. This is my first year using one and I'm not sure. My outdoor outlet has two outlets side by side: do I plug the timer into one and the light strand into the other?
haha, never notced the outlet ON the timer!!
A: plug the timer into the socket, and then plug the lights into the timer & presto. Just remember to set the timer for the correct time :)
