Q: Does anyone else make their own holiday cards?
I know I'm a bit neurotic... I was wondering if any one else had started designing their Holiday cards? I make my own handmade Holiday cards... and yes they have to be holiday cards because I have friends of different faiths and I think it would be rude to send someone who celebrates Haunnukka a Christmas card... but that's just me... Anyway any one out there who makes their own cards too? Here's a site with some good ideas... www.impress.com

A: I do both; make and bought. The made ones are either stamped or made on the computer. I have my daughter help me make them. It's good quality time. Those go to the people on the "A" list. The other people on the "B" list get the bought ones.

Q: where can you get those holiday cards with your picture in it?
Is there a place I can go where my family and I could get photographed and have christmas cards made with photos?

A: Walmart

Q: How to address invitation/holiday cards if spouse's name is unknown and no kids are in the picture?
Sending out birthday invitations and Christmas cards to friends and clients but don't know many of their spouse's names. Many addressees are reporters, an industry in which names are commonly changed, so I can't assume the spouse's last name is the same. Any suggestions on a clever way to address the envelope so they know I also am inviting the spouse but don't give away that I don't remember their name? Please help! Thanks for answers so far. Just to clarify, kiddos are not invited and most clients are women, so I can't address to Mr. & Mrs. Guy's Last Name.

A: Simply address it to: Mr. John Doe and family

Q: Does anyone else mail out holiday cards?
I mail out Christmas cards to my Christian family and friends and I send out Happy Holiday cards to my Jewish friends. Is this wrong to do? I asked a question before that asked when to send them out and people threw a fit because I called them Holiday cards. Are people really that touchy feely and angry during the holiday season?

A: I send out cards, too -- Christmas for Christian friends, Hanukkah for Jewish friends, and generic "happy holidays" (or Happy New Year) cards for friends who aren't religious. As for when to send them...well, I wish I had them out already, but we haven't even started making them yet! (Yes, we make them ourselves...it's a ton of work, but we always get comments on how much people look forward to seeing what we make each year! Although every year store-bought cards start to sound like a better and better idea...)

Q: Where to get Holiday Calendar Cards with Custom Photo?
I want to use a custom photo and order about 100 of the Christmas cards that fold out into a small all-in-one-page calendar (the one I am looking at is tri-folded, is 8 " X 17" when stretched out, although it would not necessarily have to be this size). This is for the company that I work for amd we would also have our company name on them. I can't find any place that will let me use my own custom photo to make a calendar card. I know I need to order these pretty soon. Any ideas?

A: I know where you can make a custom card with a calendar on it. Check out www.TheGreetingCardExpress.com. Click on card catalog and go to special collections and click on calendar cards to see the 10 premade ones. It will give you an idea what they look like. We can have a custom card made for $10 as long as we provide the artwork. Another great feature is you can upload your contact list and send out all of your cards with a click of a button. I really enjoy using this system. Hope this helps.

Q: Who sells holiday cards in Mandeville, LA that can get them printed in time for Christmas?

A: BJs Quick Print on Hwy 59 just turned around an order for us in 2 days on Christmas cards. We picked out what we wanted on their website and they printed them in house in 48 hours.

Q: What's a creative idea for arranging holiday cards saved over the years?
I have too many christmas/birthday/etc. cards from over the years, they are taking up too much space in a big box. I want to find a creative way to save them, like scanning them in and putting them in a scrapbook sized collage. Then throwing the originals away. That will be very time consuming, which I am up to, but was wondering if you had any other ideas? Also, any creative way to place the scrapbook page if I take that route?

A: I like both of the other ideas. Here's another one... After putting them on a cd disc, cut off the message side (throw them away) and donate the remaining picture sides to an elementary school teacher. The kids can use the cards to make ornaments or gifts such as the one suggested by one of the other responders and you still have your memories intact on a disc and/or in an album. It would be neat if you scanned them, printed smaller versions of them, and made stickers with a xyron machine and used them throughout your Christmas pages.

Q: Do holiday thank you cards have to be Christmas-y??
I am a property manager and i am beginning to receive holiday gifts from tenants and contractors/vendors, etc. As much as i am enjoying the gifts (See's Candies, Chocolate Fudge MInt cookies -YUM YUM, Macy's gift card), I dont actually celebrate Christmas. I do love the holidays, and I know people use this time of year to "thank" people... my question is.. If I send out Thank you cards, can they be simple monogrammed cards, or do they have to be all Christmas-y?? with red and green and santa and snow?? Just wondering what people think!! Thank you!!

A: Your thank-you cards don't have to have a holiday theme just because it is Christmas. You should however mention something in your card thanking them for thinking of you this Holiday season, and giving you the gift of __. That would be the proper protocol to handle this situation. Best wishes

Q: What do you do with your Christmas cards after the holidays are over?

A: I use them as decorations for the next year. The sentimental ones I keep and put out with the new cards. Great memories.

Q: Christians do you buy Christmas cards that say xmas or happy holiday on it.?
Would it send a message if Christians didn't buy these kind of cards.I have found it hard to even find cards with the word Christmas on them.I believe it's just one more way of making this an ungodly nation.

A: It will always say "Merry Christmas " on it. Do this for the ACLU. Wanna have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD! As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world. Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it. Here's the Address, just don't be rude or crude. (It's Not the Christian Way, ya know?) ACLU 125 Broad Street 18th Floor New York, NY 10004 Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions.. So spend 39 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a Holiday Tree. . . . It's a Christmas Tree! Also, send this to your e-mail buddies.

Q: Is there a creative person who can help me make a holiday card?
ok i need to make a card for a bakery and it needs to a holiday card a christmas card a chanukah etc.. But i do not want to limit to just Christmas becaue not everyone celebrates christmas so i was wondering if the card could say "What ever your holiday is you can always be sure that you will be welcomed here" Any suggestions? Any decorative ideas? Thanks in advance =]

A: You can use the paper cuts and create your own very special Christmas card for this holiday season.

Q: How do you write different holiday greetings (merry christmas, happy new years, etc) in spanish?
I have a christmas card for my boyfriend's family, and I wanted to write in it in spanish, so any suggestions?

A: feliz navidad y próspero año nuevo = merry christmas and happy new year Amor, Paz y mucha Felicidad, son nuestros deseos para estas Fiestas de Navidad y Año Nuevo. = Love, peace and happiness are our wishes for this Christmas and new year

Q: Christmas cards..?
When do you send yours out and what are you doing for your Christmas card (or holiday card) this year?

A: I send my cards out first week in December. I look forward to it. I light a fire, put on the Christmas music, turn on the tree and have a little egg nog. And start writing them out. I get my cards from the Humane society. They make the cutest cards. And the money goes to help all those animals. You should check them out. My cards this year have a polar bear and her cubs snuggling, with Peace on Earth on the front. Perfect! Enjoy your holiday!

Q: Holiday cards: How early is too early?
How early is too early to send out holiday cards? They are not Christmas-specific and are just plain holiday cards.

A: It's not too early now, if that is your questions. As far as I've seen, it's perfectly acceptable to send out holiday cards, put up holiday ornaments, and turn on holiday music after Thanksgiving.
