Q: Where can i find a christmas card holder that hangs over the door?
I've had enough of sticky tape ripping off my gloss on my door. The cheaper the better. uk please -thanks

A: Me too! I hate picking the tape off of the door after Christmas every year. I found a card holder at Michaels craft store. The only problem is that my front door fits so tightly into the frame that the holder keeps the door from closing properly and skims the paint on the frame.

Q: What is the proper way to tell family what you want for Christmas?
We live overseas on an Army base and have two children. Our family back home has begun asking what we want for Christmas. In the past, we always receive gift certificates to online stores. It is very difficult (sizes, fabric, quality) to order online unless there is something specific we know we want. We have looked into having family members purchase gift certificates to our PX/Commissary, but they are not allowed as it is only for ID card holders. The cost of mailing packages makes it hard to request certain items as well. I've also thought to request donations to charity in our name, but our family (especially for the kids) would rather send something. Is there a proper way to ask for cash instead? Please don't get me wrong, I am very thankful for what we have been given in the past and would be happy with nothing but a Christmas card....

A: Well, explain to them what you are explaining to us- that if they wish to give Christmas gifts, cash would be the most convenient (sp?).

Q: Does anyone know of a car rental agency that does not require the credit card holder to be present?
My father-in-law, who lives 300mi. away, would like to rent a car by phone(using his credit card). The rental agency must be in my town, because I'm to pick it up and drive my family down to see him for Christmas, then use it to go home. Besides USAA/Hertz, and Budget, is there an agency that will do this? His credit is exemplary, he owns a business, and is a member of USAA. Help, please, he really wants to see his grandkids!

A: Any rental car company should be able to do this for you. He simply needs to list you as a registered driver when he rents the car, and tell them that you will be the one picking it up... I believe. I know people that travel a lot for work... and know people that have traveled for job interviews where the potential employer provided a rental car. Always it was someone else paying for it and all they did was show their license. This is possible, and I believe is done all the time. Specifics of the process on the renter-end I am not sure of... but you might just have your father-in-law call the major companies to ask. Good luck.

Q: How do I remove marks left by Blu-Tac?
Took Christmas card holders down and the blu-tac has left slight marks on the wall. Does anyone know a way to get rid of them? Landlord is coming to inspect soon and they need to go!!! Is it possible?

A: I would try rubbing them with a Magic Eraser. If this doesn't work (but I bet it will), a product called Greased Lightning removes just about anything. It is sold at Lowes.

Q: im a conditional green card holder, will frequent traveling affect my application for US citizenship?
my conditional green card is extended for a year and I hope I'll be receiving my 10 yr. green card soon. I love to travel and I always go to my country of origin every Christmas season. Will my frequent traveling affect my application of US cit i only stay there for 3-6 weeks.. sheesh lady.. I go back in America to study and work.. I practically live here now

A: assuming your citizenship requires you to be in USA for a specific number of days or months, then yes every vacation you take will affect the delay before you can actually apply. Once you have applied, then I dont think it would affect the application, except that you might not want to to travel just in case they call you for the test or the interview and if you're not in the country when they call, then you application gets denied. and you have to start all over again.

Q: I'm a Qld concession card holder (single parent) and would like to know about train travel concessions.?
I have heard that you get 50% discount and then I have also heard that you can have a free trip a year. My mother lives in bundaberg and I am from Brisbane and would live to take my boys up there at Christmas to see her as it has been a long time. Does anybody know how it works and how I would go about organizing a train trip for me and my 4 boys using my card?

Q: Using an American Express gift card?
I got an American Express gift card for christmas and on itunes they wouldn't accpet the card, but on Amazon they did but for the adress and card holder information I wasn't sure what to put so I put my Own information. What i would like to know is will a bill be billed out or just deducted from the gift card balance.

A: As long as the information you gave them wasn't another credit card number, then the only thing they can charge is your AMEX gift card. If the information you gave them was the digits off of the gift card, that's what they are going to use. They don't bill people for online purchases, you have to pay up front with a credit, or in your case, gift card.

Q: What are you giving for Christmas?
Just wondering, and do you have any ideas what i could give my mom? The last like 7 years I've given her candles + bath stuff. Here's my list Best friend - toy pony, energy drink, pretzels, chocolate (inside jokes + she moved so she can't get these specific things anymore; they are her favorites) Mom - candy, notepad, ? Dad - good work socks Nanny (grandmother) - tin plates, silverware holder, drawn card Grandpa - Card Thanks in advance; Merry early Christmas!

A: I'm making my mother an Essay for the holidays to show how much I appreciate her. I want her to know that I really do love and care about her no matter how many times we may argue or squabble. You can do this idea to. If she's your role model, or inspiring to you- write it to her. How is she? Why is she? Is she? You could get a coupon book full of chores and things you'll do for her whenever she wants. :) Bring her out to dinner if your budget allows it. Bake for her :D Candles and bath stuff is nice, but you can also add my ideas to them. I'm actually just making my mom an essay, and baking brownies for my friends. I apologized to my siblings this year, I have no money. I'm going to use 20$ to maybe get them something small.

Q: how many favors you think i should give each guest?
i have the place card holder for them to keep which is a christmas ornament card holder, mint tins, cake wrap in box to take home, and another favor. Is that enough or i should include more? well i did say mint tins above, and none of my guests are jewish its a caribbean wedding, and the christmas ornament place card holder is use because its a christmas theme wedding

A: In all honesty, most people dislike all the little trinkities. While the thought is kind and appreciated, most tend to get cluttered and collect dust. The best Thank-Yous were often chocolates, candies, or mini-wine bottles with the couple's name on the label. But also remember that the guest is not obligated to take the thakn you home, and often leave them behind on the table when they leave.

Q: Have noticed Sainsburys have started putting out their Christmas stuff...?
I went in today...Tins of Roses galore... Christmas candles...with reindeer holders...... And stacks of Christmas cards... Dont get me wrong...I love Christmas... But hey...its SEPTEMBER..... For all Americans...its a Supermarket Chain....with rip off prices....

A: So have Tesco's it's Twirly! (Tooearly)

Q: Funky Wallets & Credit Card Holders for Xmas?
I figured some unusual wallets would make good Christmas presents. Looking for ones that are a bit different and stand out. Any recommendations?

A: There are so many. Bagbunch has a good list of credit card wallets from various suppliers, but my faves are on Urban Outfitters.

Q: Ideas for Christmas party favors?
My company usually gives away favors at the annual Christmas party, but we're looking for some fresh, new ideas. We've done glasses (martini, wine, champagne, pilsner, etc.), place card holders/picture frames, magnets, and a lot of other cheap stuff. Any ideas on something new? Our budget is usually about $5-$7/person.

A: A really good idea...with your $5-$7 a person budget...you could make everyone an office basket...buy a small basket and go to the dollar store and put little things like: pens, note pad, post-it notes, staples, erasers, etc...Anything someone could use in an office. Doing this..everyone gets something that they could use instead of something that would just be thrown away or collect dust. Hope I helped.

Q: Credit Card Question?? Only serious answers please! :?
ok guys. Quick question-I am really good to just put only $25 on my student credit card and pay it ALL off at the end of the month, but with Christmas comming up in 11 days, I have not done ANY christmas shopping and I am a lilttle low on cash so I was wondering if I charge say $150 in gifts for my family to the card in the next 10 days and pay a little more than the minumum like pay it off in 2 payments instead of all at once does it LOWER my credit score at all??? or make me look like a bad credit card holder or is this normal?? Also if it matters the card is interest FREE until May. will i be charged a fee if I dont pay it all off?? Thanks! Lauren Its a student card and my Limit is $800 but the first month I charged $13.77, and this month so far I have charged $56 I just need about $150 for Christmas presents for my family and that is all. So as long as I make the minimum and dont go over my credit limit it doesnt effect my score??? Im 19, please speak in lamins terms..haha.

A: If you credit card is interest free for purchases till March, you will not be charged interest as long as you make at least the minimum required payments. Your FICO score may be affected depending on what your credit limit is. If your credit limit is only $200 and you show a $150 balance, that will definitely hurt your score. If your credit limit is $2,000, there will be little effect.
